Silnie rosnący krzew o sztywnych, wzniesionych pędach i zwartym, krzaczastym pokroju. Po 5 latach dorasta do około 1,1 m wysokości przy 60 cm szerokości. W maju i czerwcu wytwarza duże kwiaty, w pąku różowo-czerwone, po otwarciu żółte z lekko pomarańczowymi brzegami i pomarańczowymi cętkami na górnym płatku. Mają około 12 cm średnicy i pofalowane brzegi, skupione są po 8-12 sztuk w kuliste kwiatostany na szczytach pędów. Liście ciemnozielone, matowe, eliptyczne, o długości do 8 cm, jesienią zmieniają barwę na żółtą / brunatną, na zimę opadają. 

Deciduous Azalea need an acidic and permeable substrate - a mixture of acidic peat or composted soil, sand and bark will work well. They lose their leaves in the winter, so they do not dry out or freeze in winter. They are completely frost-resistant in our climate and do not require any winter protection. Azaleas prefer sun or semi-shade positions.
